A rare antique Japanese Tansu chest called Kodansu. Its purpose was for use as a merchant's side chest where trade records, documents, papers and business tools were stored. The front and case were made using burl Keyaki (Zelkova) wood with Hinoki (Cypress) wood completing the rest of the chest. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery with hardened wood nails. Hand forged iron hardware including the Mokko style handles.

A fragment of old massive industrial wooden board stenciled as 'Explosive' on the opposite side, randomly stuck many old school stickers of 'Ultraman' and 'Kamen Rider' (and their monster enemies) as the two biggest children's superhero in Japanese tokusatsu TV show in 1970s. This is the indigo-dyed cotton Tsutsugaki Nobori flag dedicated to the Inari Shrine during the Edo period. Among the characters of tsutsugaki, it is an item written with very high technology. This is an indigo-dyed cotton fabric with a very nice texture that was made in 1825 during the Edo period bunsei 8 years. Hand-spun natural indigo-dyed cotton.
