The double gourd shape bottle sets on high ring foot with oviform lower body
and tall cylindrical neck terminating flat cut lip, painted in underglaze cobalt blue
with peony floral scrolls, butterflies and bats on a lower and upper bodies,
It’s in good condition, it measures 23.8cm x 13.4cm d.

Korean 19th Century Porcelain High-Footed Bowl in Box with Shifuku
This "heavily-potted" bowl with a high foot was made in 19th century, during the late Joseon (Choson) Dynasty (AD 1392 - 1910). It is coated all over in a pale grey glaze, that seems to have just the slightest hint of blue in places. Embedded in the glaze around the foot rim are many pieces of kiln grit. This nicely-shaped bottle was made during the latter part of the Joseon (Choson) Dynasty (1392 - 1910), probably the 18th or 19th century. It is "heavily-potted" and coated both inside and out in a thick pale glaze. Around the foot ring there is a considerable amount of kiln grit embedded within the glaze, a feature often seen on ware of this type from this period...

Pair of Korean late Joseon Dynasty square form wood wedding chests on fixed stands with metal loop handles on three sides. The lids open to reveal a nice sized storage space. A white brass rectangular plate is on the front and and holds a fish lock. Brass and white brass (nickel) hardware accents decorate the edges. Late 19th century. Each measures about 17 1/4" high x 18 1/4" wide x 17 1/2" deep. Very good overall condition with typical wear from use...
