Late Autumn Rain, Nanzen Temple, Kyoto Date: 1951 Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo. Watanabe 6mm seal at lower right, indicating a first state produced between 1946-1957. Size: Oban. Approximately 15.75 x 10.25 inches. Reference: Hotei #562. Medium: Japanese woodblock print. Condition: Excellent. Back margins have tape residue. Slight fading.

H 15.5 cm. Condition: Perfect.

SOLD A rare antique Japanese Niigata Kiri Children's Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. It features a stylized Chrysanthemum design on each plate which represents the Mon or family crest of the original owner and Gumbai handles. The iron fittings were all hand made and the chest was constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.
These children's chests are not often seen in Japan... Japanese Meiji period Artia Imari porcelain charger decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and brilliant polychrome enamels and gilt highlights with a central reserve holding a kirin and butterflies on a white background surrounded by three red-ground floral panels set against cobalt blue. Three underglaze blue leaves are spaced around the exterior. A single spur is on the base. Very good overall condition...

$2,500.00 Pair of Japanese iron tsuba (sword guard), mounted on a stand, dating from the 17th/19th century with Hidden Christian motifs. The first tsuba composed of three iron interlocking circles, the image of the Cross can be seen. The second iron tsuba has a very delicate wire design in the interior representing the Crown of Thorns, also has a cross in the overall pattern.
