Archaic Indian stone fragment carving of a woman's upper half, sitting on Custom Iron stand. Strands of beads cascade down her shapely front. Her outstretched arms are fragmented at the elbows. Reticulated designs are carved behind her. Custom made iron stand is included. Dates between 6th-8th century.

Sold A pair old jewelry ornaments attached in the coiffure, near the ears by Tibetan women. Made of metal alloy and set with turquoise stones. The reverse with a later added silver stick pin. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 9.9 cm long x 3.9 cm wide, weight: 66 g.
A fine pair of Kashmir lidded jars or vases. The copper base was first engraved with special tools to create the design in relief, the grooves were later filled with glass and then embellished with additional engraving and wonderful shiny gilding. This technique is called in India "meena" or "meenakari" and was first applied by the Mughal. Condition: fine, only one rim with a small dent and minor wear to gilding. Seated in meditation with the upper hands holding a prayer beads and a lotus; the lower ones in worshiping Mudra ( Anjiali Mudra). Made of purple sandalwood (zitan), a very precious type of wood dear to Himalayan worshippers.
The image is painted and has remains of gilding in the halo. As it is normal for images of this type, it is assembled from several pieces...

Bowls would have been packed into container such as this when traveling... and from the condition of this one...it has traveled many times.
The container is 6 inches diameter at the top and 4 inches high...well aged fair condition...
