I acquired it from an estate where it has been sitting in a trunk for the past 20 years, and the inside humdity, which caused the brown dye to bleed into the embroidered border somewhat. This embroidery panel was originally the front bodice of a dress...Hand embroidered over several layers of heavy fabric and using mirrors and silver and gold metallic threads...this dress bodice was a show piece probably used only for important occasions i.e. weddings etc. Very ornately embroidered, this panel measures 19 x 22 inches. the picture of the back side of the bodice indicates serious wear and age...

Old hand stitched Indian 'chakla' textile. Kathipa style embroidered in 'heer' floss silk on old cotton base. Undated, estimated to be early 20th century or earlier. 40 inches square. Good condition few missing mirrors. Can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

Nice antique bags from Afghanistan with exquisite silk embroidery. Bought these in Peshawar in the mid 90s. There is red satin on the larger bag is new and can be removed the smaller bag has a stain but may wash out (never tried so no guarantees). Small bag 10.7cm/4.2in x 10.cm/4.2in, larger bag is 14cm/5,5in x 16cm/6.3in.

Old Kalaga from Myanmar (now Burma) featuring an unusual but colorful bird. The kalaga is embroidered with a combination of metallic and plain threads, sequins, beads and glass stones. Applied around the bird in a circle are glass-like stones that give the appearance of moonstones. In very good antique/vintage condition, it measures about 14.25 inches square. Circa 1950's or earlier.

Antique hand knotted Persian wool rug made in the yomud style. It has deep burgundy colors with blue, white, orange and red accents in the pattern. One corner has a braided slipped knot made of the fringe. Late 19th early 20th (Circa 1900). It measures 12'6" by 7'2".

From our Indian Subcontinent Collection, a fine 19th century Lahore carpet featuring wool on wool construction, utilizing a vibrant palette dominated primarily by various blue on blue hues, accented with burgundy, taupe, cream, lilac and green.

Size and Condition: 11 3/4 feet x 8 3/4 feet. Great pile throughout, strong coloration with only slight oxidation. Remains of original fringe still present, but trimmed...

An Indian Kalamkari mat, probably from Coromandel coast, made of slightly padded and quilted chintz. The cotton ground is block-printed and painted with a central medallion surrounded by meandering exotic flowers and crenelation. Lined with printed cotton, indigo dyed fabric edging. Condition: clean, few very small old mends, little small age stains. Dimension: 121 cm x 83 cm.

Beautifully embroidered "Goa" priest vestment from india. Goa was a Portuguese colony off the coast of India. It is embroidered with shades of blue, red, pink, yellow, orange, and green. There is a floral scrolling pattern on front and back with smaller flowers.
