Description: A pair of porcelain whistling dolls were in creamy white slip and were sketched with black paint. Except one broken ankle on the left foot of the bigger one and was glued back, then two of them in very good condition. They whistled well even after 800 years. Height: 5.8cm, 5.0cm.

Description: A triad of brown glazed figurines (two officials and one servant) were preserved in good condition except one minor fret on one of the doll's shoulder. Very amusing pieces indeed. Height: 5.7cm, 5.5cm, 5.4cm.

Description: A lovely pair of Cizhou Dolls were in cute image. White glazed, the molded children were riding on the grinned lions. The bigger one was in perfect condition by the height of 5.5cm. The smaller one was kept with faded glaze, and was restored at the neck when height was 4.8cm. Two of them were hanging pieces due to the drilling holes at the chignons. Date: Song Dynasty(12th century)

Description: A boxwood carving of Lohan was from late Qing period, 19th Century. Called Chang Mei Lo Han, Lohan with Long Eyebrows, the figure was with likely features of a westerner. By the unique outlook which the Chinese usually depicted to the divines, the Lohan takes the casual posture of leaning to one side when holding in hand with a scroll. By contemplating facial expression, the sage wears only one shoe on the foot when letting loose of another to the stool side...

A rare very well carved soapstone sculpture of Lui Hai in traditional pose ensnaring the three -legged toad with a string of cash. This item was made circa 1750 - 1800 during the reigns of either the Qianlong or the Jaiqing Emperors. The tip of one finger is missing and there is an old glued repair - most visible on the upper foot. Little of the original paintwork is now visible. Height - 7.5 inches (19cm)...

Chinese late Qing to early Republic period ceramic modeled container shaped like a "ha ma," or toad, with a hollow body and flat base covered in a monochrome pearl glaze with a seeded finish. Measures about 10 ½”L x 9 ¼”W x 6”H. There are some old surface cracks visible. The back section appears to have been restored and the gray areas in the pearl glaze appear to be old restorations which were executed in China...

One of the best shiwan (shekwan) sculptures we've ever encountered, this large masterpiece displays the legendary Laozi riding an ox: Laozi means "old master". It is said that he mounted an ox and headed west, before leaving, the border guard asked if he would write down his ideas, which Laozi obliged to do, thus he wrote the Tao-te ching (Book of Changes)...

Chinese two-drawer elmwood coffer from Shanxi Province with a dark lacquered original finish and brass drawer pulls. Dates circa 1900. Measures 33"H x 37"W x 23"D. Very good overall condition. There are some losses to the finish and characteristic separations and cracks in the wood. A beautiful small and petite three tiered sweet meat and condiment box set, done in the famille rose palette. This lovely set dates to the late 19th to very early 20th century pre-1910. Except for some wear to the gold gilt band around the top edge of the lid, the box and enamels are in excellent condition. It measures a little over 4 inches high x 3.25" diameter.
