The Guanyin seated on a lotus throne, accompanied by two attendants. At the back of the figure there is an opening where offerings or religious texts were kept. Depicting saints or deities. H. 20 cm. Expected age wear, one figure is lacking its hands. Mounted on custom made stands. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

A rare wooden Buddha in a seated position on a lotus pedestal. The face is serenely contemplative and the robe is carved to show the gathered folds. Wooden Buddhas from this period are very difficult to find. This Buddha has a natural, calming presence.

Condition: The wood has shrinkage and cracks from age. The right ear and fingers of the left hand are missing...
