Vintage Chinese ink and color on paper painting by Zhang Kuan (1921-2009) of two ducks swimming among cherry blossoms. Signed in black ink at the upper left and with three red artist's seals. Zhang Kuan was an active painter for over 50 years. By the 1960s, he began to specialize in bird and flower paintings. Including the silk mounting, the painting measures 32 1/2” x 21 3/4” (painting: 26 1/2” x 17 7/8”). Very good overall condition. From a Phoenix, Arizona collection.

Two panels from a multipart Chinese ink and color on silk painting after Ding Yunpeng (active 1584-1638). The first Signed “Nanyu Ding Yunpeng” and with two red seals. Measures 94.5”V (85.5”V excluding mounting) x just under 23”H. 19th century or earlier. Very good overall condition. The second of two Chinese Qing scrolled paintings on silk after Ding Yunpeng (active 1584-1638). 19th century or earlier. The size, including mounting, is 91”V x 23 1/4”H (painting: 86”V x 21 1/8”H). Good overall condition. The top wood bar is missing and a section of the top silk mounting is tattered. The painting has some typical buckling, creasing, soiling, and wear. Beautiful traditional Chinese brush painting of the Buddha mounted on a beige silk scroll, excellent condition. He is sitting on a lotus throne with his right hand raised in the Shuni mudra symbolizing patience and discipline. There is an apocryphal dating of 1845 Buddha’s Birthday, Daoguang reign and signature of Reqin. Mounted size is L: 203cm/80in and W: 78cm/31in- actual painting size is L:131cm/51in and W: 66cm/26in. Circa last quarter of 20th century.
