A very rare pair of ironwood chairs also know as Tieli mu. Ironwood has been used with huanghuali items since the Ming Dynasty. In all the years that I have been collecting Chinese furniture, this is the only pair of ironwood chairs I have come across. Ironwood is usually been confused with jichimu. Rare pair of Blackwood side chairs. These were usually reserved for the men. This is classical Northern Chinese design. Very simple but elegant, classical Ming design. My favorite type of Chinese furniture. Size: H.104cm W.52cm. Age: 18th century Condition: Old repair on one leg. See last photo.

A wonderful example of a carved an painted mid 18th C. Mongolian storage cabinet with flat table top surface. Still retains its original pigment with floral motif seen along with the floral handcarved drawer fronts. Footed base support legs float the chest off the ground. Very sturdy and strong in construction. All original hand forged iron is there and complete.

Antique Chinese pair of hardwood two-tiered stands, with sides carved of scroll ends and floral motifs. Each tier is inlaid with natural marble. Original finish hardwood with attractive, natural grain.

Chinese pair of carved jichimu wood stools. The curved legs are carved with cusped edges and narrow to lingzhi mushroom shaped feet. The seats are inset with white dali marble.

Beautiful and unusual chest from China with a very interesting, highly figured hardwood with warm brownish tones. The chest is one solid piece with four drawers running along its top front and two sets of hinged doors on its bottom, with brass hinges and lockplates. Antique Chinese burl treasure/jewelry box with brass hardware, a lid that secures shut with a brass lock, and two front swinging doors opening to four drawers of varying size with fish shaped brass pulls. The front frame surrounding the drawers is a hardwood with dark red finish. Size: 12" height, 12.25" width, 9" depth

Antique Chinese bench, made of Hongmu and other mixed woods. Inset with marble headrests. The underside is carved with motifs of scrolling lingzhi mushrooms, and its sides are carved with scrolling key frets. Very heavy. With bamboo mat seat cover.

A pair of Chinese bamboo horseshoe chairs, of steam bent, tied, pegged and notched construction. The continuous horseshoe rail and arm rest has tied, cane split bamboo throughout the furniture. It is made to secure and create a decorative pattern. The open back slat frame has a geometric Shou pattern and a double happiness motif. Antique Chinese tall carved altar table made of hardwood with burl. Ornately carved with highly raised pierced ruyi motif. Dates from late 19th century to early 20th century

A Republic period hardwood couch made of Hongmu wood. Chou symbol of water dragons with marble in the apron and the back slat has auspicious flying bats and Lingzhi mushrooms with Qin dynasty archaic key fret patterns.

Antique Chinese pair of carved wood display cabinets. Each cabinet has three large areas for display open from the front and sides and framed in elegantly carved scrolling leaf boarders. The lower sections have a pair of side-by-side drawers over a compartment opened by a pair of doors. The cabinets are lacquered their original deep reddish color and metal hardware includes round lock plates with matching hinges...

A mid century Chinese buffet finished in a striking patinated bronze over wood. A solid stone top was designed with a bull nose edge on all sides. The finish has a checkerboard style of look. Two pairs of doors with the left set opening to 5 drawers and the right set opening to a spacious storage area.

Beautiful and unusual altar table with pink marble top, late 19th early 20th century. It is made of rosewood and beautifully carved with peony and iris flowers and dragons. There is a scrolling pattern on each side of the altar. There is a rectilinear pattern under the table top. It measures 35" wide 19" deep 32.5"' tall.

A beautiful and rare blackwood vanity chest. This is an unique piece and very large and quite heavy. It has all the original brass fittings and many drawers. There are many copies of this piece and this is the only original one I have come by in all the years I have been collecting. Age: Early 19th century. Size: L. 35cm. W. 25.8cm. H. 21cm.
